MetaMask is one of the most popular wallets for interacting with Binance Smart Chain. Adding USDT BEP20 to MetaMask requires two steps: connecting MetaMask to the BNB Smart Chain network, and importing the official USDT token contract address.
Step 1 — Connect MetaMask to BNB Smart Chain: Open MetaMask, click the network dropdown (top center), and select "Add Network." Enter: Network Name: BNB Smart Chain; RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/; Chain ID: 56; Symbol: BNB; Block Explorer: https://bscscan.com. Save and switch to this network.
Step 2 — Import USDT BEP20 Token: On the main MetaMask screen, scroll down and click "Import tokens." Select the "Custom Token" tab. In the Token Contract Address field, paste: 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955. The Token Symbol (USDT) and Decimals (18) will auto-fill. Click "Add Custom Token" and confirm.
Step 3 — Fund Your Wallet: Your USDT BEP20 balance will appear once you transfer tokens to your MetaMask BSC address. You can receive from Binance by selecting BEP20 (BSC) network during withdrawal, or from any other BSC-compatible source.
Important: MetaMask uses the same address format (0x) for Ethereum and BSC, but the two are separate networks. Tokens on Ethereum are NOT visible when you are connected to BSC, and vice versa. Always confirm the active network (BNB Smart Chain) before sending or viewing your USDT BEP20 balance.
To send USDT BEP20 from MetaMask: ensure you are on BNB Smart Chain, select USDT from your token list, click "Send," enter the recipient's 0x address, specify the amount, and confirm the transaction. MetaMask will estimate the BNB gas fee automatically.
